There are several shows going on several TV channels. But some shows are very attracting that too before one realizes. One of the shows in this category is the Californication TV. There is a bit of drama and comedy both in this series. In the survey carried out by a reputed website imdb the show has received remarkable ratings of 8.7/10. David Duchovny has played a main role in this series which is similar to the life of famous writer and poet of American origin Charles Bukowski.
Duchovny plays the role of Hank Moody, a writer who moves to California to overcome writer’s block. Moving along with Moody to the west coast are his steady girlfriend Karen (played by Natascha mcelhone) and their daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin). Moody, however, is not only combating a bad case of writer’s block but also his lack of resistance to such overwhelming desires as sex, alcohol and drugs.
He wanted to show to his girlfriend that he has the capability to become a reliable and dependable partner and also a responsible and kind father. The series is based on the contradictory situations arising in day-to-day life of the write and he pushes all the guilt to the writer’s block. The episode of half an hour is comedy and entertaining for the viewers. The write also gets viewers empathy for the mess he does in the series.
Moody’s agent and his wife are two more major characters in the series played by Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon respectively. Damian Young plays the part of Karen’s fianc Bill Lewis. Mia Lewis is Bill’s teenage daughter played by Madeline Zima. Apart from these main characters there are some tiny roles which take the story ahead. All together the show is enjoyable and worth watching.
It is not shocking that the show has received three awards till the date and many nominations which need not be mentioned. Two from the total three awards are Emmy awards won by Peter Levy and Michael Weaver for Outstanding Cinematography in the year 2008 and 2009 respectively. Duchovny received the third award, the Golden Globe Award for the best television act in male section. Among the nominations three were from Golden Globe for Duchovny for best depiction of Hank Moody. In these three nominations Duchovny won the award once.
Californication is definitely one tv series that anyone would love watching a second time in its entirety. We’re realistic enough to agree though that the previous seasons will not be aired a second time on Showtime. However, there’s some good news for die-hard fans of this popular tv series. It’s amazing. As of today I’ve been writing books for 30+ years, and selling them online for nearly 15 years, and previously only in print through selling foreign licenses, or printing them myself, advertising them, and selling them either online or in classes I taught.
Now there is a better way. If you have something you want to say, you can put it in print, or sell it online and there is no difficult about doing that. Books the world over are beloved by children. There are a few good books for kids that have been in circulation for ages and are still read by kids of all ages. They can be found at any library. There are also some lists that are devoted to compiling all the favorite books for kids.
Toddlers have always enjoyed Maurice Sendaks Where The Wild Things Are. It’s about a boy named Max who goes to sleep and visits the land of the Wild Things, who are monsters that he befriends. Max then awakes from his dream to his dinner, hot on the table still.
Another favorite is called Goodnight Moon and it’s about a little child who says goodnight to the things around him, and especially the moon.
Shel Silverstein and Mark Twain are both prolific and popular childrens book writers, and kids will either have read them in school or have checked their books out of the library. They continue to be popular to this day.
The beloved Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Old Yeller by Fred Gibson, both of which received the Newbery Medal award, are timeless classics enjoyed by children of all ages and adults too.
Louise Fitzhughs Harriet the Spy series and any book by Judy Blume have remained favorites with teenage audiences. Nancy Drew mysteries and the Hardy Boys series also stay popular with kids and teens. These can all be found at the local library.
Roald Dahl wrote The Great Glass Elevator and Danny, Champion of the World. Many of Dahls books have been made into movies. Judi Barrett’s Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs has most recently been made into a movie too. These books remain favored by kids and to this day are still read.

Mulan directed by Tony Bancroft is a Walt Disney productions’ animated feature film. The week in which it was released the film was declared as the second highest grosser just behind The X – Files. It was awarded a number of prizes including the Golden Globe Award for the Best Original Score.
Mulan is bunglesome young girl who defends her homeland, China by cross dressing. The story is that Huns have attacked China and one member of the Chinese family must go to war to fight for his motherland. Mulan’s father decides to go to war to protect his family’s respect. But he is too old and death is imminent if he takes part in the battle. Sensing this Mulan, his daughter, cuts off her hair and sneaks out in the middle of the night to join the Chinese army. In order to protect his little daughter, her father prays to the ancestors to protect her in the journey and to provide her with some luck. The ancestors sent Mushu, a small dragon for her protection in the war.
Mushu, a dragon, was sent by Mulan’s ancestors to assist her in the quest. She underwent a tough training but emerged successful. She was now on her way up the hills to confront the Huns. During the course of the war Mulan’s secret identity gets exposed and everyone realized she is ‘just’ a girl. But Mulan is strong-minded and fights on to protect China.
Eddie Murphy as the voice of Mushu is definitely the show stealer. His dialogue delivery and the very presence of Mushu in the screen makes you sit up and enjoy. The scene where Mushu calls the Huns “a bunch of dirty ass motherf******” is really funny and probably the best scene in the movie.
Mulan is an adaptation of the Chinese legend and is more or less similar to Pocahontas. One question that needs to be answered is – why have American actors as the voices of the characters when you have enough Asians in Hollywood? A minor glitch but should have been avoided.
Overall Mulan is a satisfying film with a good balance between humor, supporting casts, sidekicks and a strong female lead character. One interesting trivia about this animation is that all the artwork for the movie has been done on traditional Chinese Lithographs and in pastel colors. There is one scene in he film which will be etched in the minds of the audience for a long time to come – Mulan is forced to bring an avalanche down on the advancing army and she is forced to ride the peak of the avalanche wave on a horse. Amongst the characters, though, Eddie Murphy only deserves special mention. The others are just ok.
Mulan is a strange kind of film and there are reports that people actually like it though most of the reviews have nearly dissected the film into pieces. The film can be called progressive considering the gender-equality issues that it portrays through its characters. The G-Force movie, a family flick is written by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, the husband and wife team who have in the past delivered many hits like National Treasure, Bad Boys II etc. This movie is going to be asure shot hit with both the kiddies and grown-ups alike. What might prove to be difficult is the part where the kids might end up asking you to allow them to keep rodents as pets after watching this movie.
A mole and three guinea pigs are trained to speak like humans through some devices that are fitted in them. They form the G-squad and are trained spies. Ben, (Zack Galifianakis) a scientist who works for the government on the low level trains them. He also specializes in training insects to carry in to small spaces, tiny cameras and is considered to be the lord of the flies.
The lead pig, Darwin (Sam Rockwell’s voice)is assisted by Juarez (voiced by Penelope Cruz) a latina, feisty guinea pig and Blaster (voiced by Tracy Morgan)a guinea pig who is African-American and Speckles, the mole (Nicholas Cage), the tech guyin all missions. Speckles also held responsible for talking the guinea pigs through any mission as he gets to electronically survey the vicinity that needs to be broken in to before the guinea pigs move in. His ethnic background remains undisclosed.
Ben has suspicions about Sabar, (Bill Nighy) an industrialist who is a billionaire. Ben believes that Sabar is scheming to conquer the world through his electrical appliances. He sends his squad on a mission which goes awry. The FBI (Will Arnett and co) closes down Ben’s zoo and gives all the zoo animals to a pet shop. During their stay there, the guinea pigs meet a crazy hamster (Steve Buscemi), who claims that he is partially a ferret and Hurley (voiced by Jon Favreau) another guinea pig that is chubby. Together they set out to get revenge.
The rodents somehow manage to escape the pet shop along with their friends and head toward Sabar to foil his deadly plans. The action picks up from here on. The chase scenes will keep you on the edge of the seat. Even in all the running and chasing, the one liners come flying out thick and fast. The pace of the story is peppy.

‘Blades of Glory’ was released with the collaboration of MTV films and DreamWorks in 2007. It was written by Jeff Cox, Craig Cox and Busy Philips and Ben stiller, Stuart cornfield and john Jacobs produced the movie. ‘Blades of Glory’ movie was directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon who made it a big success and it was released in DVD’s and HD DVD.
The first scene starts with two ice skaters in a tie for the gold medal taking place at the world winter sports games. The players who are already rivals end up getting into a quarrel and are barred from the game. The two ice skaters are Chazz Michael Michael’s caste by Will Ferrell and Jimmy McElroy caste by Jon Heder. Michael has got a attraction for sex while McElroy has a gay kind of character. Due to this incident McElroy’s dad leaves him penniless and hence he is left on the streets.
The movie continues after few years showing Jimmy working in a winter sports store and he gets moved down to stock sorter for tying a kids skate boot laces tight. Chazz who works at a children’s skate show gets fired for getting drunk on work and he has put on lots of weight.
When Hector (Nick Swardson), Jimmy’s stalker, informs him of a loophole he can exploit to compete in professional pair skating, Jimmy gets in touch with his old coach Robert (Craig T. Nelson)and begins looking out for a partner. The only person he finds is Chazz. Both are convinced by the coach to skate together and compete in the pair skating competition as single sex skaters.
The pair of Jimmy and Chazz are spied upon by Katie (Jenna Fischer) on the say-so of her older brother and sister pair Stranz (Will Arnett) and Fairchild (Amy Poehler) who happen to be the reigning pair champions of the US. The pair do so because they feel their position at the top’s threatened by the two over the hill skaters. Katie however, finds herself getting attracted to Jimmy in the process of spying and soon ends up in a relationship with him.
Chazz and Jimmy begin to get along better and develop a friendship that sees them through the US Figure Skating Championships and gives them a chance to participate in the Winter Sports Games again. Robert, the coach informs the duo that their only hopes of winning depends on their ability to successfully perform a technique invented by him called the iron lotus. This difficult technique hasn’t been performed since the incident in North Korea when the male skater ended up decapitating his partner with the blade of his skates.
What happens next? Do Jimmy and Chazz manage to master the Iron Lotus? Are Katie and Jimmy allowed to remain together by Stranz and Fairchild? Coming to the end of a rough draft is exhilarating thing. You now know that you can do it, that you have done it. The fact that you have created a complete novel is something that does not get old, even after completing many novels. Every rough draft will need to be edited, no matter how good you think you are at the writing process. Some of the steps involved in editing will go quicker than others if you have a good grasp of the basics such as grammar, formatting and punctuation.
We can compare editing to the process of cleaving, cutting and polishing a rough diamond. Diamonds take a long time to form, and when they are mined from the earth, they are rough yet beautiful. Each stage in the process is important and important for getting the most potential out of the tough gem.
Cleaving is the part of editing that can be started right after you have typed the end. This is where you step back and take a look at the large picture. Macro editing. Do you feel satisfied with your ending at that very moment? Do you have scenes that you will need to insert to make more sense out of your ending? Do you have a character that you need to develop more or one that you need to get rid of all together?
I recommend not actually making any of those changes right away. The diamond cleaver turns the rough gem in his hand and makes observations, sets the diamond in a type of cement and walks away from it, letting it cool. I suggest writing your observations and to do list down in notes, backup your draft one final time and then put it away for a minimum of thirty days.
During that waiting period, take the time to celebrate, but also start work on a new project. Work on rough notes or an outline for a new novel or if you do not have an idea for the next book, find writing prompts and exercises to do that might give you some ideas. A week before you start editing, spend some time reading advice from others on the editing process.
When you come back to the manuscript, read it from page one to the last. With a fresh perspective on it you can start working on those notes that you made earlier with confidence and precision. Adjust your ending, rewrite your beginning, remove characters or scenes that don’t further the plot and add the foreshadowing details that add depth to the novel and give more meaning to the ending. After you are finished with the macro editing, put the manuscript away again. For a day, a week or longer if you need to and come back to it, ready to do the micro editing.
